Alexander the Great

Alexander became the new king of Greece at the age of 20.

Wanted to conqueror the world

 

Look on page 82 write down the years Alexander conquered Babylon

 

Wherever he conquered, Alexander introduced Greek culture.

This period of time became known as the Hellenistic Age.

He named 16 cities for himself "Alexandria" in Egypt became the most important.

Tragic End

After conquering most of the known world, Alexander died @ age 33 from fever or poison.

Alexander's empire eventually broke up into 4 parts each general taking a part

Ptolemy         Antipater          Laomedon            Seleucus
