1.Entangling Alliances

 

 

 

2. German Agression Germany's army and navy doubled in size between the years of 1870 through 1914, this threatened the other nations of Europe.

3.Assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand, heir to the Austrian throne.

4. Unrestricted submarine warfare.  German U-boats sunk many ships.

Western Front: stretched for 600 miles across Europe, trenches were dug and the killing began.

What new "secret" weapons were used? p 444 poison gas, flamethrower, tank, airplane
