The Roman Catholic Church

What is the Word of God? p 144 under Christendom  a permanent record of the gospel, providing the true basis for Christianity

How did some men make themselves into gods? by blocking the direct access of others to the Father through Jesus the Son.

Complicated worship - Roman Catholic clergy complicated worship  by insisting people go through the priests and popes to get to God.

1.  Roman church declared itself the one true church

2.  Priests said mass ( Catholic service ) and the congregation became more and more like spectators

3.  Mass was said in Latin ( the dead language ) so people had little hope of understanding what they saw and heard

4.  Great building projects drained the people's offerings forcing the church into distorted fundraising ( Indulgences)

1.  sacrament :a sacred act like  the Lord's Supper AKA communion

2.  baptism:  Catholics baptize infants to remove mortal sin

4. 5 other sacraments or "sacred acts" which held the keys to heaven

5.  Excommunication: being cut off from the priests and the church.  If you were "cut off " you were denied the sacraments and thus eternally damned.

6.  Christendom: the world in which Christianity prevails

Where is Christ today? p 145 heaven

What is He going to do when He returns? rule an earthly kingdom
