Plight of the Oklahoma's Farmers

1910 average wage was 22 cents per hour

1. most small farmers were tennant farmers and did not own the land. ( hence, they did not make improvements on the land)

2. Some tennant farmers joined the Socialist Party in an effort to get their voice heard.

Williams became the
third Governor of Oklahoma.

Robert L. Williams won over several candidates
most colorful was Al Jennings a former outlaw and robber.
