Pick a homecoming theme and begin making plans on a homecoming set design. In 2008 we decided to simplify the set design/setup/tear down process by using some of the props and techno lights that are already on the main auditorium. |
December 1st The main goal for December is to have the elections, collect bios, redo the program, set the theme by the end of the first week of December. Then deliver to Jason Cook so he can edit, proof, and print the program |
First week of December hold elections of the Homecoming court. Sample ballot: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th. King and Queen Have a lunch meeting of the newly elected homecoming court and give the girls dress guidelines and discuss dress code for the evening. Hand out Bio sheet and give to each court member, to be brought back completed the first day after Christmas break. Show the sample bios on the LCD and have them start to fill out the Bios during the lunch meeting. Have a lunch meeting of the entire Student Council and assign duties from the Homecoming Student Council To Do List 2008, 2009, 2010. Make sure that students complete a digital copy of all the work so it can be posted on the web page. Have students work on their assignments during the next two weeks and report back during next meeting during Final Exam Week. Email parents of the court congratulations and Homecoming Court schedule and dress guidelines. Make sure Alumni Chairperson has letter to alumni and is starting to organize activities. |

First Wk of Jan Team Rosters |
Check with Printing dept and check on programs. Email Athletic Director for team rosters. Marc, could you email me the rosters of the Grace basketball teams and cheerleaders and then email Mid Del and get their boys and girls rosters so we can put it in our 2008 homecoming program.

Second Wk of Jan Email all GCS Staff |
Email all GCS Staff and give them the schedule of Homecoming events and tell elementary of fundraising events so they can put it in their Friday letters. Elementary teachers please put this in your Friday letters:
Homecoming Shirts: The Student Council is selling homecoming t-shirts for $13 Order forms are due by Friday, January 25 Also, the following items will be available during school in the secondary lobby Thursday and Friday of next week, during the games and pep-rally: Pom-Poms: $1.50 each; Megaphones: $3.00 each; Deal: 1 Megaphone and 2 pom-poms $5.00; Backpacks (mini clinch bags with zipper) $10 will be available Thursday and Friday.
