    1760  George III became King of England

    Lord Grenville became prime minister of England and was determined to help the king bring the colonies into subjection.

    Read the 6 steps of Grenville's programs and write a  summary or definition of each. Page 88


    Colonists respond to the Sugar Act with "no taxation w/o representation" the colonists wanted a representative in Parliament.

  Intolerable Acts  series of laws against the colonies in  response to the Boston Tea Party

    Boston Port Bill - closed the port of Boston

     Quartering Act - allowed British troops to be housed in public buildings and even homes.
     Quebec Act - canceled the American western land claims

    A Spirit of Unity  people throughout the colonies sent supplies to Boston.
